We pulled into Pina on the Sunday of Memorial weekend (extremely busy) without an appointment and were pleasantly surprised that they let us in for a tasting. The tasting room is a small space in amongst the barrels. Pina only produces Cabernet Sauvignon and the productions are very small. We were treated to barrel tastings of their 2005 offerings which was excellent considering the short time it had been in the barrel. We will definitely be going back to taste it again when it is ready for release. These were our first tastings of the much talked about 2005 vintage which is looking like it could be exceptional.

Lots of fruit with an earthy finish. A very nice wine with good potential. Will get better in a few years.

Another young Cab that already has a nice finish. Should get better over time. Too early to rate.

Chewy tannins. Drinking surprisingly well for a wine that has only been in the barrel for 6 months. Definitely want to come back to try again in a few years
