The winery is too small to have it's own tasting room, so is available for tasting through the collective tasting room called "A Dozen Vintners" Tel: 707-967-0666, Open Tue-Sun 10-5.

2001 Cabernet Sauvignon ($60)Rating: B

Still a lot of fruit and has years to develop in the bottle. Not as good as the Adams Ridge Cab.
2003 Beatty Ranch Zinfandel ($38)Rating: B

Good overall zin, much more friut than pepper, unlike the other HM zins.
2003 Black Sears Zinfandel ($38)Rating: B

Wow - this is a big Zin. It sucks all the moisture out of your mouth and leaves the mouth very dry. Should be better in a couple of years - should be good with spicy or bbq food.
2006 Black Sears Zinfandel ($38)Rating: B

Drinkable, nose of fruit and pepper. Dry finish that may improve with time given the tannins.
2003 Old Vine Zinfandel ($27)Rating: A-B

Spicy smell and not surprisingly a pepper overload. Guest taster Sandy though this would go well with an Egg McMuffin - she meant pour it over the top of it. It probably would make a good pepper sauce if reduced - way too much pepper.
2005 Bear & Lion Zinfandel ($25)Rating: A-B

Starts well but finishes poorly. Metallic aftertaste "Zincy"
2006 Old Vine Zinfandel ($25)Rating: A-B

Very acidic on the palate, but smoother on the finish. May improve when the acidity balances out.
