2007 Montebello Cabernet Sauvignon ($145)Rating: C-D
Mar 5th, 2011
Lovely mouthful of big purple fruit and tannins, has the depth and complexity that it should given the price point. Probably not on most folks everyday shopping or drinking list but if you can lay it down for a few years and let it grow into itself or for a special occasion. At $10 per sample, sipping it very slowly and savoring it is way to go!
1998 Geyersville ZinfandelRating: B-C
Dec 3rd, 2007
Out of the bottle, it was very tight with a dry finish. Smooth and round, no bite - not a typical Zinfandel.Super smooth, mellowed out. Would not hold onto this much longer.
2002 Geyserville Zinfandel ($30)Rating: B-C
Oct 1st, 2005
84% Zinfandel, 12% Carignane, 4% Petite Sirah. I enjoyed this Zinfandel - it is drinking well now and could get better in a few years
2002 Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon ($30)Rating: B-C
Oct 1st, 2005
Had to buy a bottle and open it in the tasting room to get a taste. It's young but has great potential. Chewy. Should be very nice in a few years.
2005 Lytton West Syrah ($25)Rating: B-C
Sep 20th, 2009
Luscious fruit, excellent balance with good juicy fruit flavours to open. Toasty blueberry on thenpalate and nice smooth tannins on the finish.
2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon ($43)Rating: B-C
Mar 5th, 2011
Big cab, lots of fruit and big tannins. Quite a bit going on in the glass but it will settle down in time and should be a solid effort.
2008 Lytonn Springs Zinfandel ($30)Rating: B-C
Mar 5th, 2011
Usual solid effort, fruity and tannic but balanced and well priced.
1995 York Creek Zinfandel ($36)Rating: B
Oct 1st, 2005
90% Zinfandel, 6% Petite Sirah, 4% Alicante Bouschet. Not a bad Zinfandel but not worth $36
2001 Late Picked York Creek Zinfandel ($30)Rating: B
Oct 1st, 2005
Not bad - strong alcohol and sweet
2005 Paso Robles Zinfandel ($28)Rating: B
Feb 6th, 2008
Dark cherry and a hint of pepper, with a lot of tannins on the finish. Should improve in time.
2007 Carmichael Vineyard Zinfandel (Barrel Sample) ($40)Rating: B
Jan 31st, 2009
Earthy, light on the fruit but drinkable.
2007 Lytton Springs Zinfandel (Barrel Sample) ($40)Rating: B

Fruity on the tip of the tongue, soft in the middle and little rounded finish.
2007 Ponzo Vineyard Zinfandel (Barrel Sample) ($28)Rating: B
Jan 31st, 2009
Very dark berry flavour and caramel finish.
2009 East Bench Zinfandel ($26)Rating: B

If you like a strong burnt coffee nose then this is your wine. Some sweet and spice accents, a different style for the Zin folks out there.
2001 Paso Robles Zinfandel ($30)Rating: A-B

Didn't like this wine. Not good.

Nothing really there a little fruit, but not memorable.
