Even though I thought the wines were not that good, I would definitely recommend visiting the winery. The tasting room is well laid out and large enough for a considerable crowd. Also the service was very good the day we were there and there is plenty of shopping for people who don't want to drink. They cater well to crowds and have a nice picnic area outside the tasting room which we took full use of.

2006 Juan Rodriguez Reserve Zinfandel ($100)Rating: C

Named after the estate manager. Great fruit, balanced bold flavours and a long finish. Very nice wine, another high price though.

Nice and fruity, good body and a pleasant finish. Whopping price.
2006 Kenneth Carl Reserve Zinfandel ($150)Rating: B-C
Jan 31st, 2009
I never knew you could pay $150 for a Zinfandel, this would have been a C at half the price. Big fruit, smooth body and a big finish - similar structure to a port.
2006 Maple Vineyard Zinfandel ($40)Rating: B-C

Syrupy with medium fruit - nice drinker.
2006 Pony Vineyard Zinfandel ($32)Rating: B-C

Very drinkable redcurrants and smoke, with a dry finish.
2006 Sonoma County Zinfandel ($22)Rating: B-C

Blended Zin, nice rich colour, medium fruit and very approachable. A good deal at this price.

2002 Dry Creek Valley Pinot Noir ($28)Rating: B

I enjoyed the Pinot Noir. At $28, I thought it was the best value in the winery
2006 Lytton Vineyard Zinfandel ($29)Rating: B

Good fruit, little sweet, little dry, little finish. A little potential.
2006 Stone Vineyard Zinfandel ($29)Rating: B

Tight and fruity with mineral tones
2006 Warm Springs Ranch Zinfandel ($32)Rating: B

Medium zin, tastes like th label says: Warm.
1999 Matrix ($40)Rating: A-B
Oct 1st, 2005
Way better than the 1998 Matrix. A lot smoother but not worth $40. Did not get the breakdown
1999 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon ($50)Rating: A-B
Oct 1st, 2005
I thought it was kind of flat, lacking a finish. Dave liked it though. Cannot justify $50 on it
2006 West Dry Creek Zinfandel ($50)Rating: A-B
Jan 31st, 2009
Lots of fruit, but very sweet - tastes like Madiera, but not what you are looking for in a Zin. Disappointing at this price.
1998 Matrix ($40)Rating: A
Oct 1st, 2005
"Tastes like cabbage". Awful. Did not like it at all. Bordeaux blend with 10% Merlot, 71% Cabernet, 17% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot
