Meander Cellars is great. If you get a chance you need to visit Amy Aiken; Amy IS Meander Cellars, the one-woman show who sources the grapes, makes the wine and then puts on her sales and marketing hat. Finding her location is definitely a little tricky as you are really tasting at her house - "turn right at the white picket fence followed by right at the pink house...", but when you make it, it is a great wine tasting experience. Amy got her experience working in the Valley at places like Joseph Phelps, and in 2000 decided to make her own label, hence Meander. The productions are really small and Cabernet is the main focus; Amy sources her fruit from 2 of our favorite Napa vineyards, Lewelling and Morisoli. She really does justice to the fruit and produces excellent wines. Also Amy is a very nice person and fun to taste her wines with. We really had a great time. Definitely recommended.

2006 Morisoli Cabernet Sauvignon ($100)Rating: C-D

Wow!! 100% Cabernet from Morisoli vineyards and less that 50 cases produced, this is a really good wine. Beautiful structure with a long finish. Excellent
2006 Cabernet Sauvignon ($65)Rating: C

Now we are talking. This is a really good wine. Great structure and finish, long smooth tannins. 22 months in French Oak, 50% Lewelling and 50% Morisoli Cabernets. This will only get better with time. I had originally rated this wine higher, but then I tasted the 100% Morisoli Cabernet...
2009 Sauvignon Blanc ($28)Rating: C

After tasting the big mountain wines from Pride, it was somewhat refreshing to try Meander's Sauvignon Blanc. Floral on the nose, crisp and light. A perfect wine to drink on a warm Summer's day
2008 Russian River Pinot Noir ($42)Rating: B-C

Meander's Pinot Noir is a nice wine. "Clean", "Crisp", "Fruity", "Light" were some of the words I overheard from the group. 200 cases produced, I thought it was light for a Russian River Pinot. I can see a lot of people loving this wine, but at $42 I believe there are better values out there
