We visited Arrowood at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon in January and there were no other people at the winery, so as you can imagine the service was excellent. The servers were pouring us any wines we wanted to taste and they happened to have some exceptional bottles open from an event that was on earlier in the day. The tasting room is medium sized and would not cater to a big number of people, so I am not sure what the service would be like in the Summer, but we were very pleased with the service today.

      Best Syrah of 2007
Best Value Wine - January, 2007

Excellent Syrah. Beautiful finish, very smooth. Parker claims it to be "one of the greatest Syrah's Arrowood ever produced (93-96 points)". I really enjoyed it. Very good value
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon ($45)Rating: C

Drinking very well right now. Nice fruit yet smooth. Last wine of the day so we had tasted a lot but still enjoyed it
1997 Sonoma Coast Merlot ($40)Rating: C
Jan 4th, 2008
Not a long taste, but broad on the palate, fills your mouth. May not have much life left, but drinking well now. Good structure, but turned dry and tannic after 2 hours in the glass.
2000 Sonoma County Merlot ($40)Rating: C

Good fruit and chewy finish. Cellared for a few years and still has that lovely texture to it - should last another few years.
2002 Cabernet Sauvignon ($45)Rating: C

Excellent Cabernet. Well balanced. Deep ruby color, full body. Good value under $50. "Licorice"
2002 Le Beau Melange Syrah ($35)Rating: C
Jan 6th, 2007
Bigger finish than the Saralee Syrah. Another excellent Syrah but not as smooth as the Saralee
2002 Reserve Speciale Cabernet Sauvignon ($100)Rating: C
Jan 6th, 2007
Huge wine. Has the potential to be excellent but I would like to try it again in a few years. It needs to be put away. Robert Parker rated it 93 points if that interests you
2001 Sonoma County Merlot ($42)Rating: B-C

"Looks and smells like a Pinot". A light Merlot with nice fruit and finish. "Tobacco"
1999 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon ($40)Rating: B

No fruit with lots of tannins, but something is missing. Either too young, too old or a bad bottle. Expected more from this wine, ends with a sharp finish.
