We really enjoyed our visit to Pride. We had been before but it was a few years ago and were glad to get to revisit for a private tasting for Sue's birthday. There were 10 of us and we were treated to a fantastic time by Scott. We were given a tour of the impressive wine caves and treated to a tasting in a private room. Pride, being located at the top of Spring Mountain Road has stunning views and is probably one of the best lunch locations in the Valley. The wines are also very, very good. Another nice touch is the new pizza oven and the very good pizzas cooked for guests to enjoy. Pride seems to go the extra bit for their customers. We were also treated to a barrel tasting of the Cabernets that make up the Reserve wine - a wine that you do not get to taste as it sells out every year on the mailing list. Going by how good the barrel tastings were, then the Reserve Cab should be excellent and a wine I would love to try. Definitely recommended

Good nose, full of dark fruit with lengthy tannins.
2008 Cabernet Sauvignon ($66)Rating: C

12% Merlot, 6% Petite Verdot. Good structure with big tannins. Classic mountain Cabernet from Spring mountain. Will only get better with time
2008 Merlot ($56)Rating: C

Pride's signature wine and at over 5000 cases represents about 30% of the overall production. With 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Merlot has good fruit and a nice finish. Needs a little time in the bottle
2009 Chardonnay ($37)Rating: C

Our first wine of the day and a great way to start. Really nice Chardonnay without any sharpness and little oak. Crisp with layers of fruit. Sourced from Carneros
2009 Viognier ($42)Rating: C

100% Viognier and Pride's gold standard white, the Viognier sells out quickly. Perfume on the nose with good flavors. All members of our group liked this wine
2006 Merlot ($56)Rating: B-C

Very robust Merlot, with good fruit and structure to develop and last for years.
