2008 Platt Vineyard Pinot ($65)Rating: C
Mar 16th, 2011
Solid effort, bigger body matched with style, darker fruit flavors, given the feminine nature of the Pivot this is definitely all male. Could be cellared for a couple of years.
2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ($50)Rating: B-C
Jul 18th, 2008
Very smooth, fruity - medium short finish. Our Pinot expert Rob was very impressed and could drink this all night. A longer finish would easily mke this a C.
2007 Charles Heintz Vineyard ($65)Rating: B-C
Mar 16th, 2011
Very nice Chardonnay. Hard to justify the $65 when you can have 4 bottles of Lynmar for the same price as one but nice crisp fruit, good acidity and minerality.
2007 Les Larmes Anderson Valley Pinot ($41)Rating: B-C
Mar 16th, 2011
Some decent complexity in this one, bit of everything, nice mouthful and a decent price.
2006 Mays Canyon Pinot Noir ($0)Rating: B
Aug 24th, 2008
Light with raspberry notes.
2006 The Haven Pinot Noir ($0)Rating: B
Aug 24th, 2008
Darker than the Mays Canyon. More flowery than fruity at first, but then turns more fruity with a reasonable finish
2007 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast ($41)Rating: B
Mar 16th, 2011
Pleasant straightforward pinot. Better values around.
2008 Pivot Vineyard Pinot ($65)Rating: B
Mar 16th, 2011
According to Ted Lemon the winemaker, this is the most feminine wine in the collection. Lighter red fruit flavor, mild tannins but a chalky accent presumably terroir. Price is always an issue for these guys which brings the rating down.
