Diamond Oaks is up in the hills overlooking the valley below. It is a beautiful spot for a picnic with great views and a nice shaded picnic area under the trees. The service is very good, the servers are friendly and the location is great. Even cool music being played in the large tasting room. The prices are good for Napa but unfortunately the wines were not that good. There always seems to be a catch!!

2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve ($50)Rating: B

More oak flavor. An average Cabernet but tough to justify $50. Better value elsewhere
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley ($30)Rating: B

Definitely getting better but still not the best. Better value can be found elsewhere for $30. More fruit upfront with lots of tannins
2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley ($22)Rating: A-B

"Hot". Not enough flavor to hold the alcohol

Oh dear. Tough wine to start on. Sharp finish. Not very good
2005 Hira Ranch Merlot ($35)Rating: A-B

"Flowery". Strange finish for a merlot. "Sweet".
