Small family owned winery with a long tradition of wine making, specializing in Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Most of their wine is sold out quickly to a large mailing list, meaning no retail sales outside of the winery, and limited quantities available to those visiting the winery. With such limited sales at the winery, the tasting room facilities are meagre and don't show off the wines at their best. They accept visitors by appointment only, and there is a homely feel to the small tasting room/office/cellar. The wines are dispensed from pressured raps, that means the wine does not get to breathe before hitting your glass. Considering that these are new wines, it is very hard to assess the wines based on their limited time out of their glass. While the wines have a good reputation, I would not hurry back for another tasting.

Good colour, more body then the Zin and a nicer finish. Should age well.
2002 Zinfandel ($29)Rating: B

Tight and fruity - served straight from bottle with no air. Started to improve with time in the glass. Not too peppery, short finish. Need to taste again later.
