Davis Family Vineyards is a small family run vineyard in the center of the Russian River Valley. The tasting room is located in the beautiful town of Healdsburg and it was our first tasting of the day. December is a good time to visit wine country as it is pretty quiet, so a good time to taste and chat to people. The flip side though is that the weather is pretty cold, so in this case the tasting room (and wine) was freezing. Not a good scenario to try to get a good sampling of the wine. Overall though, a nice, friendly experience, nice wines and definitely worth a visit. Go when the weather is a little warmer though!!

Favourite wine at the winery which we were pleasantly surprised by. Only 300 cases. Big, full mouth finish

Good nose, color. Nice smooth wine but not a lot too it.
2006 Gusto Sauvignon Blanc ($20)Rating: A-B

Very citrusy nose. I found it tart on the finish though. It is made in New Zealand which we found surprising
