Long Meadow Ranch is a 650 acre ranch on the top of Mayacamas Mountains in Napa. Here they produce grass-fed beef, heirloom vegetables and fruits, virgin olive oils and of course wine. LMR recently opened up a restaurant and tasting room in St Helena so we decided to stop by to check it out. The Farmstead restaurant is a farm to table restaurant beside the tasting room; we did not get a chance to eat there but would like to go back to it. The venue looked nice and casual and you cannot beat the $2 corkage (for charity). The tasting room was average sized. The service was also average - nothing special. We tried the $20 tasting and thought it was a little expensive for what you get. The wines are nice but probably won't be rushing back for the tasting - we will check out the restaurant though

      Best Wine - June, 2008

Wow a great wine, easily the wine of the night. Good chewy tannins, nice balance between fruity opening and tannins.
2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($38)Rating: C
Dec 29th, 2007
Lots of flavour, settles down after some time in the glass, but this has great potential and should improve with time.
2005 EJ Church Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve ($85)Rating: C

More structure in the Reserve Cabernet; fuller wine with big tannins. This wine should age well. Nice wine
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon ($50)Rating: B-C

Aging well, earthy nose with strong flavour of black currants and cherry. A medium long finish with smooth tannins.
2004 Cabernet Sauvignon ($42)Rating: B-C

Great nose. Not huge body. Very smooth, "silky". Soft Cabernet.
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon ($42)Rating: B-C

More body in the 2005 compared to the 2004. Nice wine again very silky

A nice Summer wine. Good balance. Very clean taste with good fruit. Good price
