You should go to Ferrari-Carano to visit the incredible gardens. Five acres surrounding the winery, the gardens took 16 months just to plan. There are over 10000 tulips and daffodils, a stream with waterfalls that flow into fish filled ponds, over 2000 species of trees and shrubs and bronze sculptures. The winery is extremely picturesque. There are two tasting rooms which are large - Upstairs is for the Classic Tasting and downstairs in the Enoteca Lounge, the Reserve Tasting. There is also a lot of retail. Unfortunately we thought that the wines did not live up to the beautiful gardens and winery.

2004 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($34)Rating: B
Mar 10th, 2007
85% Cab, 8% Syrah, 4% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. This is a fruitier, smoother Cab. Not much of a finish though
2004 Tre Terra Chardonnay ($34)Rating: B

Fruity and crisp with a light butter finish (50% malolactic fermentation). Would not drink a lot of it
2002 Villa Fiore Cabernet Sauvignon ($19)Rating: A-B
Mar 10th, 2007
76% Cab, 12% Malbec, 8% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cab Franc. Medium fruit, but again was not impressed with the finish
2004 Sonoma County Merlot ($25)Rating: A-B

Flat finish. I did not like it - It tasted sharp. No thanks
