This winery is great with impeccable service (but not snobby like you would expect). Tastings are by appointment only, but we called to make an appointment 5 minutes before we got there and they were delighted to take us, which was a very pleasant surprise. We were also treated to a mini tour with unlimited samples of the wine - The tasting section in the cave is incredible. The wines, the winery and the service get top marks. Excellent. Well recommended!!

1999 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($65)Rating: D
Dec 29th, 2006
      Best Wine - December, 2006

This is an easy wine to describe - "Yum", "Wow", "Solid Cab". The clear favourite of a blind tasting event, extremely good wine with great nose, long finish and great balance. Hopefully this will remain a great wine for some time. May 14th, 2005: "Beautiful wine. One of our favourite wines of the day. Very well structured Bordeaux blend. Rich, powerful and well balanced. Should continue to age well for a few more years."

88% Cabernet. Beautiful wine thatis drinking well with years more to improve. Medium finish and not as big as the '99, but still a very good wine.

Nicely balanced, drinkable on its own or with food.

Very drinkable now, but will last for years. A big Cab with a long smooth finish, this wine is only available at the winery and is produced in small quantity.

Very balanced, elegant wine with good berries up front, that fill the mouth and a very pleasing finish - good tannins should allow this to age well for many years.
2002 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($29)Rating: B-C

Picked up a couple of bottles after a memorable dinner at the winery, still got fruit and tannins that should keep it flavourful for a few more years
2002 Red Wine ($60)Rating: B-C

This was quite chewy, big flavors, not showing particularly well at this time, may need more time in the bottle to settle down or a minimum of 2hrs in a decanter.

A nice wine which is drinking very well.

Smooth but not much fruit left and a medium finish. Expected more at this price.

Very tannic, not much fruit left, I suspect will improve with time
